 Responsible for maintaining and improving the overall pre-analytical, analytical and postanalytical
operations within the laboratory.
 Responsible for the implementation of the Quality Management System and Quality Policy
within the laboratory.
 Accountable to ensure that sufficient resources are available to provide medical laboratory
services, that meets the end requirements of the users.
 Implementation of a safe laboratory environment in compliance with good practice and
applicable requirements.
 To ensure the provision of clinical advice with respect to the choice of examinations, use of the
service and interpretation of examination results.
 Selection and monitoring of referral laboratories and monitoring the quality of their service.
 Addressing complaints, requests and suggestions from the staff/ users of laboratory service (s).
 Designing and implementation of a contingency plan to ensure essential services are available
during emergency situations.
 Responsible for liaison with external parties such as certification bodies and consultants.
 Authorized to issue, review and amend the Quality Manual.
 Authorized to release patient reports and issue amended reports.
 To handle patient & doctor queries for the report released ensuring they resolved smoothly
